Favorite Videos of 2016: Day 13: Isabelle Ruins Everything

"Basically, what I'm saying is there's a lot of people in jail now." "We don't even have a jail!" "We had to build one, and nobody wanted to help, so I had the police force them?"
Here's a nifty little disclaimer!
I liked the video. I found it not connected to the channel, and thus I have no opinion on hotdiggedydemon. Seems nice enough in candor, though. (I do get that this video is a bit of an outlier in his school of shock comedy, so I'll just look at it at face value.)

Typically, the worst thing we can see out of leaving Animal Crossing for a few months is a few missing villagers and a wasteland full of weeds. The last thing we would expect to find is a failed communist experiment but alas, here we are.

The whole premise is that the mayor returns after an absence playing Smash to find Isabelle running the town under a communist ploy and failing to acknowledge the needs of the people, leading to instability and chaos. It's a pretty interesting breakdown of communism, honestly: the exchange of peaches being wealth distribution before eventually exploding into mass imprisonment was pretty smart. In fact, the whole bit was well-concieved, balancing the cartoon between both good 'ol comedy and semi-advanced economics.

Arguably the most appreciable part of the cartoon is Isabelle who attempts to maintain her chirpy attitude in spite of the world falling apart around her, especially with the character being foiled by the almost-deadpanning mayor baffled by her choices- naked fountain and all. While I may not be as smitten with the ending because of how anticlimatic it is (though that's by design), seeing Isabelle return home under the guise of a goof to her personal Karl Marx shrine was over-the-top enough to be a delightful surprise.
